Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley
8 April 2011
Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a home in Glengormley.
A male was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines through the internet.
The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offences.
He will now be the topic of a report to the general public Prosecution .
The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.
Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is crucial that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be hazardous.
"These types of products being sold, typically online, have actually undergone no quality control and there can be no assurance about their safety.
"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More notably, you do not know the result drugs like this might have on your health."
